Glad to be able to share personal artwork again!
For the first time in 1.5 year I took the time between freelance to nourish my creativity through making a major piece. I wanted to push my boundaries with this image, adapting new skills and knowledge along the way.
Do you think I succeeded compared to my older work? let me know!
The painting depicts a warrior from ancient Samaria from the biblical tribe of Gad. To be one step ahead of the enemy, storks are being used to scout.
Bulwark of Samaria
As lord commander Methusela and his host ascended the Levantine mountains, they waited for the battle to come. Outnumbered by the Assyrian army, Methusela awaited his final plan to unfold. The cranes, flying towards the horizon, halted their motion and began to circle in the air. The enemy was marked now, the cranes hovering above them. While Methusela and his army were unlikely to survive, the strongest blow would be his.
Special thanks to Diego Gisbert Llorens for the help!
All the best,
